We are thinking of getting a small chocolate cake from Target (specifically Beaver Creek) decorated for my MIL's birthday. Are they tasty? Dry? Any experience with them? I'm not sure what they have to choose from. We would probably pick a 6" round or 1/8 sheet cake. There are only 4 adults and we don't want much leftover!

Thanks!

I've only had their slices and they are awesome! We've done the pull aparts for several birthdays and have been very satisfied. Everything is always fresh and tasty.

I have not had a cake from Target, but wanted to say that Harris Teeter has a double chocolate layer cake in their bakery that is fabulous. I think its $12.99, but its large and extremely rich and chocolatey. Its my family's fave birthday cake. They are sold frozen, takes a few hours to thaw before serving.

I find that Target's bakery products usually are pretty good; I noticed they don't have that strange aftertaste that you find in some grocery pastries. I don't know why that is the case; maybe less chemical preservatives or something? At any rate, I enjoy Target baked goods.

Wait, Target has bakeries? The Target near me just got a grocery section last year and that's not very impressive. What am I missing?

I have only had their sheet cake and it was absolutely delicious - and I was expecting mediocre. Not only very moist, but w/ great texture and a delightful faintly almond flavor. I will definitely buy from them again and recommend them. This was as good as I have had from the best, most expensive bakeries.

Yeah, I didn't know Target had cakes, much less a bakery. Exactly what are we missing out on???

I'm jealous. Our Targets here do not have bakeries and very little in the way of food at all. I guess those are the Super Targets.

I bet it is a Super Target.

I love shopping at Super Target. Well, until I get to the register!
