Today was a gorgeous Georgia day. Wanted to do a little shopping in our outdoor Pavilian style malls. Went to TJ Max, was kid free, enjoying my special quiet time alone. I noticed a peddler's table set up in front of the entrance, knew I wasn't going to buy anything, and just kept walking.

There were two women, very pleasant, urging me to stop back at their table when I left because there was a special for people wearing pink shirts today. Yes, I had on a pink shirt. I was mildly annoyed, smiled, shook my head no and kept walking into the store.

Got a cart, no sooner had I turned the cart around to begin navigating the store, when I spotted another table, this time set up inside the store with a young man hawking items. His approach was a bit less perky than the ladies, but annoying as all heck! He said, "You look happy today", I have a special deal on... I clearly was less than happy after being approached 4 seconds earlier by the ladies outside. He was selling what looked like newspaper subscriptions.

I headed up a side aisle to get away from his sales pitch. He then used the same line on the next customer coming in the door, "You look happy." And on my way out of the store, the ladies acosted me again.

Now, I understand if the scouts are selling their annual popcorn or cookies, a tradition that is embraced by most. However, I don't like being solicited in stores by sales people that have absolutely nothing to do with the store.
