Has anyone else felt the rise of stores wanting you to complete surveys?
It doesn't seem worth it in some cases. My biggest issue is the lack of cashiers in some stores. I was in Kohl's yesterday and had only one item. I am already an inpatient person to begin with (so take my assessment with a grain of salt) but I can't stand it when people (okay...okay...women) dig around in their pockets or their purse for their money. We all know the stuff in the store costs so have your card or cash ready!
Do you complete the surveys?
I know if you complete one for JCPenney you can save 15% on your next visit. Those are the kind of incentives I like, not the whole, "Win $1,000!." Sure $1,000 would be nice but the odds of me winning it are slim and I'd rather save 10-25 (okay okay...50%) on my next visit.
Yeah any survey that will enter your name into a drawing after completing it seems like a info seeking device. I'll complete surveys when personal information isn't required...or if the business asking me to complete the survey already has all my information in their records.
I often think surveys are a ruse to get you to disclose contact information that they can then use to spam you.

The ones I've completed (JCPenney and Target) have not been spamming me.
I do sometimes, I wish they would just list the things they are inquiring about instead of it going from window to window, I only do it if I have some time, I've never heard of anyone who has won anything, I know Penneys is somewhat different I think you get a % off or something like that.
Why these companies waste time and paper with there constant mailings that most people throw in the trash is a waste of the companies money, why don't they just lower the prices, but no the paper is an Accts Payable to them so they can use it against their profits, can't win.
A caution on all of this type of activity. If it requires a signature, it may have fine print that signs you up for an unwanted service. We no longer do any survey responses.
These surveys are the biggest racket ever. These stores and businesses need demographic info, shopping habits, etc. There are companies who make millions gathering this information and selling it to big stores. Now the big stores have their own survey and promise a chance to win something if you part with your very valuable information.
I never fill them out. I'm not being paid to assist them in their research about customers and their habits and my time is worth money. You want me to fill out a survey that is going to benefit you, pay me and I will. Why should the store gain something valuable and all you have to show for it is a slim chance of winning a gift card or whatever.

I never get spammed either and I do plenty of surveys. When it comes to saving money, these percentages off really add up during the course of a shopping year. Also, joining their sites online for the monthly newsletters always comes with heads up on sales and coupons.
I sure understand people not wanting to fool with it....but with my budget...I just can't afford not to.

If you sign up for it, it's not spam. And I need to add here I get Ads from Home Depot and Walmart...maybe one a week from each of them...I guess I signed up at one time...I don't remember...LOL...
I just finished building about four customer based e-mail address books for a company.....with 1,000's of names on them....some were as old as a year....so just because you haven't received anything from them yet does not mean that you wont some day...
I despice Spam. Best survey out there to me, IS JC PENNEY, they reward me for taking their survey, and love their store. Most all others, just thank me, or put me in a drawing, where i will be waiting for eternity, to hear back from them.
