Yeah, but you can't simply discount the last election either. It is more accurate to say that they are both solid purple states. This is why I stated that both are more politically moderate than GA.

But see thats the issue NC is a blue state only because barrack won by 1% and this is like the first time in forver NC voted blue. I woud have to say that the state would at least have to vote blue at least two more times before I even say its purple and its gotta be by more than 1%. You gotta feel what i'm saying. Whats happend in VA is trying to happen in NC.

If the state went blue two more times, then it wouldn't be purple--it would be blue. NC is something of a new swing state, but the whole red/blue thing is less accurate than talking about whether it's overall more liberal, moderate, or conservative--which is why I said it's more politically moderate. That's the most accurate term to use IMO.

All i'm trying to say is that if NC didn't have raleigh-durham NC would fall right back in with the rest of the southern red states like always. I'm not trying to discredit raleigh is just doesn't represent NC being that most dont come from NC. But the colors of the states dont really matter anyway its deeper than that. City piedmont is progressive just like ATL metro and theirs nothing wrong with progression for the most part. But i will say that since i live in MD i go to NOVA all the time and well im just going to say NC is quite different even in rural NOVA something is just not the same.

Accorss the board, I would say Alabama and Georgia. I find the locals in South Carolina are more narrow minded, not to mention most of the time I have ever been in at a social gathering of locals in SC, I usually hear the "N" word used....

If you hear the "N" word used a lot at gatherings you attend, then I think you need to choose your events more carefully. You and I clearly do not attend the same kind of "events" in SC, or elsewhere for that matter.

Not sure I agree, Meck county alone makes up about 10% of the state's population not counting the suburban counties. This area, like Raleigh, is not typical of the counties that you would find in SC politically or demographically.

Listen you self righteous, condescending puke, these were 3 different parties, in three different communities that I lived in, with 3 different sets of people that we were invited through either through work or neighbors.

I am sure you are just as racist and bigoted against northerners as these people are, you just hang your confederate flag in the closet instead....

Oh no i wasn't saying that charlotte didnt have a huge political influence but charlotte has more natives than raleigh and some of SC is apart of the charlotte met I was just trying to narrow down an area that doesnt feel to NC like though charlotte definitely has those areas I will say it's not on the same level of raleigh though as a whole.

I think this is ridiculous. You evidently are hanging around with the wrong crowd. I go to parties in SC all of the time and never hear the "N" word mentioned. I also lived in Virginia and I don't find much difference between Virginia and South Carolina. In fact I believe the two states have a lot in common.
