I'm moving to Columbia mid February. I've been looking at apartments online but I'm getting a big headache. I need a 3bd/2ba, but I can't live above or below anyone. (My mother can't climb a lot of stairs, and can't tolerate a lot of noise.) Which leads me to looking for townhouses or duplexes, but there isn't much to choose from in my price range, at least that I've been able to find. ($1000 max.) So now I turn to the forum and beg for some help. I've been looking around W. Columbia, Lexington, Cayce to be closer to family. (I've asked for their opinions, but they seem to be as clueless as I about apartments there.) I'm even willing to live somewhere between there and Ft. Jackson, as I would have to go on base from time to time. I'm also concerned with safety, as I also have a small child. If anyone knows of an apartment community, or subdivision that would possibly meet my needs, I would be much obliged. Thanks everyone.
