Is there anything on earth that is comparatively rare in space? Fuels, minerals, metals, etc?

Gold is fairly rare. It essentially has to be star vomit from one star that then becomes material for another star which then vomits it out and has it hit a planetoid. (Yes, I know, not accurate. I'm going for the core idea in a simple fashion.)

I recall watching a Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman, I think, that talked about gold being very rare in the universe, and possibly one of the only reasons extraterrestrials would be interested in earth.

There is no reason earth would necessarily have more gold than any other place. Most elements are created within a star, one theory is that gold is not and instead is the result of much more intense energy events such as colliding stars.

Because it's so heavy the majority of has sunk to the earths core making it even rarer on the earths surface.

As far as ET wanting it once you have achieved the ability to move through vast distances of space the issue over resources is no longer relevant.

Gold was relatively easy to mine and so it became currency in the past. Then gold was valuable in electronics, for it's ability to conduct electricity. It was also valued in medicine, since it does not rust or give off contaminants. But now we effectively relapsed industrial use of gold. Before the age of Household technology, people used to buy gold as jewelry, now people spend money on cell phones instead.

Notice how gold is in the list of materials listed there.

I think moon has more Uranium then earth. There is also some stuff there that is not on Earth.

As far as the facts as we know em, the most unique things about earth is Life and us people Because that is the only thing we don't see in space.
