So what's wrong with NASA trying to draw more attention to their website?

There is no harm in NASA's attempt to help the masses learn more about the Universe that we exist in.

My image is of the Homer Simpsons of the world clicking on it, thinking "Free Beer!" and being mightily disappointed. <doh!>

On one hand, there is little harm in click-bait or deceptive practices that people can back out of (other than wasting time), but it is inelegant, like trying to market Rolexes to pigs. NASA (in the 1960s) was synonymous with high standards and not giving the time of day to crackpottery. It is sad to see it dumb down in an attempt to increase interest.

Times have changed and we have a very dumbed down US population.

Then add on all the ID/Creationist spreading pseudoscience to those who are dumb enough to believe in it.

I think it's great that NASA is finding ways to reach everyone not just a select few. Nothing wrong at all with NASA planting seeds.

You sound like a bitter fellow.

BTW I have never watched the Simpsons so I don't get your image at all.

Not bitter as much as disappointed in the direction a lot of things in the country have taken, especially education and the news media. It is like watching a loved one fall into drug abuse and knowing that they have to go through a lot of pain before they will decide to change.

Well don't take it out on NASA for attempting to plant seeds.

Yes I too am disappointed at the direction of a lot of things in this country. Education has been a problem for a long time in the US. The news media has been a joke for a long time as well. These are not new events.

Again I think it's great that NASA posts links in a way that can appeal to more people. Every little seed that's planted in someones mind is better than none.

What part of "NASA doing clickbait? <sigh>" do you see as "taking it out on NASA" or being bitter? Did someone once viciously attack you with a wet noodle that you are so overly sensitive?

My question is; where did all that alcohol come from? And what about this;
Quote:
Lovejoy passed closest to the sun on January 30, 2015, when it was releasing water at the rate of 20 tons per second.
Twenty sons every second! How long did it do this for? Just how big is this thing? (And what can we do to capture some of that alcohol?)
