My husband and our four kids (6, 5, 3 & 4months) are looking to move to Spokane in the next few months. We really just need a new start with new scenery. How are the schools? How much is the cost of living? Rent? Gas? Utilities? How easy is it to get a job? Tell me everything we need to know about a move this big. We are both 25 yrs old, married a yr and four months and this will be our move away from everybody and everything we know.

You are moving here without a job lined up? I think you should work on getting something firm before moving. Do you have friends or family in the area you can stay with until you get established jobs? When we moved here, my hubby interviewed by phone with some companies and was able to get a job from out of state. Rent will be $800-1200+/month for a 3 bd house in a decent area. Utilities will be another $75-150+/month. I think you should focus on finding jobs first and then figure out where to live based on where you'll be working.

You're leaving progressive Austin to move to this uneducated, jobless-economy, crime-ridden ****hole? Wow. Unfortunately, I moved back here from San Francisco after my husband died to be near family, and finish raising my kids. My last kid in the house is 18 now, and I cannot WAIT to get out of here.
