Fencing controversy forces Korean to sit on piste for ages, eventually costs her medal | Fourth-Place Medal - Yahoo! Sports

Facts: One second left. Korean vs. German. Clock malfunction and stop moving. One second passed, the game keep going and German scored one more point AFTER time was up. They counted that score and Korea loss.

We all know how long a second is without a clock. EVERYONE knows the difference between 4 seconds and 1 second. It's common sense. NOT TO MENTION, the game was video recorded. Time was up, game over. The clock not working shouldn't stop the game being OVER!

So, Korea loss the point AFTER the geme was over. She (Korean) was suppoed to move to get the chance to either win a gold or silver, but because of that one point, she didn't have that chance, and ultimately lose the bronze too.

As you can see, 98% of the posters agree that this was injustice, with the other 2% are probably Germans.

What do you all think?

And they made her wait right where the match took place. She wasn't allowed to go sit somewhere else during the appeal. The whole thing was pretty terrible. Maybe this will lead to changes in how these things are handled.

Oh, not to mention that they REQUIRED payment from the Korean right there right then in order for them to file an appeal.

Same thing happened in gymnastics when they wanted to appeal and they literally handed over cash. Just seems like a very odd system.

Total injustice and i can't see why the officials said they can't overturn it. I'm glad this gal didn't accept the consolation medal either. If i was the other girl, i wouldn't want to move on to the finals knowing that i didn't win it. Why go through life knowing that you didn't really beat the other gal unless her country has financial incentive for her to get a medal.

it was completely stupid. Completely scandalous and makes one wonder if something fishy in involved. All my sympathy goes to the Korean girl.

You can't ask players to play a 1 second game multiple times, after the game was alread over. It is the stupidest thing among all the stupid things in the Olympic games. Stupid judges.
