With Nadal still injured, Djokovic just got beaten by Tsonga, it looks like this is Tsonga's chance to win the Grand Slam. He just beat Murray, and the only one in the way is probably Federer.

Tsonga, along with Ferrer and the Birdman (Berdych) were no doubt inspired by Stan Wawrinka's run at the AO, and gave them hope and belief that they can beat the Big 4.
There has been a lot of speculation on the MTF's and ATP site comments that Djoker deliberately tanked Toronto. I do not think he did and Tsonga just played very well, but not sure if I am quite ready to say Tsonga is back as a genuine Grand Slam contender just yet, after such a mediocre year to date.
Murray too, has had a poor year by his standards, and still the jury is out whether he is a spent force as well.

Why would Djokovic deliberately tanked Toronto? By doing so, he is losing $$$$, damaging his stats, and losing points potentially lead to losing the number 1 spot.

The speculation is due to the fact that he probably already has the YE#1 sown up, and he is saving himself for Cincy (the one Masters missing from his resume) and obviously the USO.
Prize money is hardly an issue for any of these guys, with scores of millions of dollars in the bank. (remember Djoker donated his whole Rome Masters prize money to the Serbian flood relief!).
I personally don't subscribe to the viewpoint that he tanked, but can understand others saying that.

Tsonga beat Djokovic, Murray, and Federer in one tournament. Has anyone done that before, ever?

David Nalbandian had probably an even more impressive run at Madrid in 2007; he beat Berdych, del Potro, Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer in succession.

Tsonga's run in Toronto was very impressive though, and career-wise elevates him to a somewhat higher level now that he's won two Masters 1000 events (the other was Paris in 2008). A lot of good players cannot make that claim (though to be fair he still has won only 11 career titles, a lot fewer than Ferrer or del Potro but more than Berdych or Wawrinka).

Tsonga's giant killing run in Toronto could not be repeated in Cincinnati:

Marin Cilic Beats In-Form Feliciano Lopez In Cincinnati Opener - Tennis - ATP World Tour

Toronto Semi-finalist Feliciano Lopez is also out, to the former Top 10 hard-hitting Marin Cilic.

Typical Tsonga. He would make a giant killing and then couple of weeks/days/hours later losing to some no-name player or player way outside of the top 15.

Djoker out, to journeyman Tommy Robredo:

Robredo Ends Djokovic's Career Golden Masters Bid - Tennis - ATP World Tour

I must say, although not quite alarm bells yet, this is a worrying loss to somebody like this.
He will need to play his way back into form in the 1st week of the USO if he is to have any chance this year.

Federer better win this

And Wozniacki is definitely one of the favorites for the USO
I don't think Halep will ever be able to beat Sharapova now -- Maria is in her head.
