I've read that ratings for the season opener were down for the 4th straight year. I also saw pictures of several stadiums that looked to be 50% full. Last year the NFL blamed their ratings dip on the election so will Irma now get the blame for at least week 1?

Has the NFL finally reached peak saturation?

Pretty much everyone I know is boycotting. NFL ratings have been declining anyway so it's hard to say whether Kaepernick fallout has been a cause.

I used to be avid. Now casual fan. I have season tickets to the Bucs and I'll be going this weekend, but I've unloaded a couple of games already and expect to sell some more.

Watched the Redzone all Sunday but not as hyped. Not playing any fantasy - stopped that several seasons ago.

Fed up w/ the kneeling B.S. some of the players are doing. Somewhat concerned about the safety issues - used to enjoy a hard hitting game, but now first thought is "****, will it do permanent damage to the player's brain?".

If it wasn't for the diversion fantasy FB gives me I wouldn't watch or pay attention at all. I certainly won't be attending a game or buying merchandise. Just using it as free entertainment.

AS Chargers moving to LA takes even my interest in them down several notches.

If the NFL needed my money this would be there last year in existence. A bunch of overpaid idiots.

Pretty simple for me; games are boring, over-officiated, and the league itself is too parity-riddled with too many subpar and average teams. The two calls made on the Seattle INT return early in the game vs Green Bay were inexcusable and one prime example; took me less than 10 minutes of watching the NFL this season to make me tune out due to more officials' nonsense. Given rule changes thru the years, the success of a team is too much dictated by solely by quarterback play as well and speaking in terms of all pro sports, it has become too focused on big business. I see a headline article alluding to Matt Stafford's stellar play; but in the context of a contract he signed. One single good performance by Kirk Cousins brings out talking heads discussing more about what he is worth, the team keeping him, etc... . This didn't go on just 20 years ago in the NFL and is a huge turn-off and uninteresting to me. The fantasy football became inane too me years back when every yahoo with no knowledge could just go thru the media ina millisecond and be told exactly who to pick up off the waiver wire and who to start, bench, etc... Only the gambling aspect makes me pay attention to the NFL. College would be better if only more than about 20% of the 1-A teams could actually play something called, "defense".

Boycotting? No. Disinterested for the most part, yes. Well and truly sick of billionaires hocking junk product and demanding bail-outs from cities for stadiums, etc. Sick of endless ads trying to make up for bad TV contracts. Not a big fan of watching these young men slowing getting brain damage for 'entertainment'. That's a big problem.

Boycotting is a strong word. Lately, a word usually reserved for activists which seem to be against everything America.

Not boycotting.

Just bored.

Rather read a book or go play outside.

Not boycotting it. How the league handled Ray Rice, Deflategate, Colin Kapernick, or any other of these scandals makes no difference to me.

Simply put, the fantasy football bubble and 7 day a week incessant coverage of all things NFL is ridiculous. I don't care about their tweets, or anything else.

I like to see a good football game, not much else aside from the injury report.

The overabundance turned me off to it.
