IOC: No proof China cheated in gymnastics - Beijing Olympics News - MSNBC.com

BEIJING - Despite persistent questions about the ages of several members of the Chinese women’s gymnastics team that won the gold medal, the International Olympic Committee said Friday there is still no proof anyone cheated and believes the controversy will be “put to rest.”The IOC asked the International Gymnastics Federation to investigate “what have been a number of questions and apparent discrepancies,” spokeswoman Giselle Davies said.

Good, I'm glad of this. I think the Chinese should be applauded for these Games and for their success in them. They have captured the most gold medals and are second in the total medal count. I remember a time when it was just the US and the Soviet Union competing for top spot.

I guess their own news agency's reporting is nothing?

Success via cheating ... no class.

Well hell lets let them shoot up with steroids and win everything.

What a surprise Chinas own documents show the gymnast are the right age, HMMMM maybe just maybe it wouldn't be that hard to forge these. This is garbage, I dont know if it is political or the IOC is just so lazy they wont investigate but they do not deserve those golds. Also, maybe if the US pulled kids out of their homes at age 3 and trained them their whole life they would win golds as well. Dan Patrick said on his radio show that one girl reportedly hadn't seen her parents in years, yea thats who I want to emulate.

These girls are taken away from their families at age 3 ... with the IOC and the gymnastics federation dragging their feet for a week, it's given China plenty of time to clean the evidence. Geez, all they have to do is present a passport?? Crud man, I have to provide more proof to get my G%$D&^% drivers license!

The IOC couldn't find proof. Who would have imagined such a thing?

The IOC finding looking for proof is not unlike the UN searching for WMD in Iraq.

I understand they are complaining because it COULD be cheating and illegal but seriously, you got beat by young teenagers. Id be more upset at myself for letting little girls tear me apart, rather because they are too young to compete.

And dont give me that "well, the younger, the more flexible"... thats BS!! You can train your body to do exactly what the cheating Chinese have done.

BUT it is illegal to lie and compete at 15 or younger. So they do have a point, but not a good one.

Lying to compete isn't a good enough reason to complain??? Rules??? Hello???
