The Breeders Cup starts today at Santa Anita. 14 big races with horses from the US Canada, Argentina and Europe. The action will be heavy and the racing will be badass.

The Friday highlight is the Ladies Classic with the undefeated power mare Zenyatta taking on 7 rivals.

On Saturday $10 million colt Curlin takes on 12 rivals in the $5 million BC classic.

I`m really looking forward to this. As I do every year.
Coming at the end of a long season the results can be a little unpredictable to say the least. I was looking forward to the Curlin v Duke of Marmalade clash. Sad to say the Duke looked to be feeling the effects last time and I`ll pass him over here in favour of Curlin.
By best guesses for the best of the Euros,,,

Sixties Icon
Fleeting Spirit
Goldikova
Bushranger
Donativum
Conduit
Raven's Pass

I`ll have a good bet on Sixties Icon now seemingly back to old form..Goldikova has looked very classy, so the same there..Of the rest I`ll take a few E/Ws more in hope than expectation .....

Default Lincolnshire had swept the house

Nice picks Lincolnshire. You must have really cleaned up. While the rest of the the American public was doing lord knows what who increased your bankroll. Thanks for sending over Dettorri, he is the best of the best.

A great nights racing with every one a classic. Bob Baffert getting Midnight Lute to win, after the problems the horse has had, had to be one of the high spots. A great training feat. Goldikova? What a performance.I`d love to see her in training next year but I suppose the lure of the paddocks might be too strong. On the betting front, as they say over here, I really "had it off!"..Can`t say too much in case the Mrs is listening in..
