Thank you, Dear Friends and Family for all your prayers and help, The directorof Florissant Community Improvement Program, visited yesterday, as was the plan on the letter she sent me one week ago. Her tour was brief and she was quite put out that a few of our friends were there to acompany us. She asked, "And they are here because...?" I pointed to the donuts (kindly provided by a loved one) and told her they were here to help with last minute preperations for her visit and for donuts. I can only imagine the things she would have like to have said had there not been others around! We all got the impression that she had already made judgement (on me, it seemed) before she and her assistant, Diane, entered and the only other words she spoke to me were......"We'll be in touch." I had taken before and after photos and really do believe the house was well ready for a detailed inspection. I hope her obvious hatred was because she must allow the program to go on. Soon, I hope to not only have the house in great repair, I hope to make it nice for anyone who stops in to visit (many, I hope). --Amazingly, the response was quick - and the actual inspection will be scheduled! So, once again - THANKS TO YOU ALL!With love, Diane "A positive attitude will not solve all your problems... ...but it is certain to annoy enough people to make it worth the effort."

I would love to know how this came to happen as well!

My friends and family told me they were able to sense the director's hatred just from being near to her!
The worst thing I had ever said to her was< "Do you know how many time in the last week you've called me a lier?"

When I asked what codes I had broken to cause her volunteers to dig up all my landscaped flowers, she yelled "Do I have to put it in writing?" When I replied, "PLEASE" She walked out and over her shoulder shouted, "We'll see you in housing court!"

I am totally baffled by this experience but am very glad someone must have stepped on her leash, and hope the rest of this awesome program will proceed without any more personal confrontations.

**** Hope it's not too late i just found this site., sounds like you had the same problem that i did with a city in So. Calif. I filed TiTle 42, 1983 (Violation of my rights to due process ) to recover what the city took from my property. with out giving me any type of hearing before they did what they did. Sound like the same action might be what is needed in your case . also it would appear that by her actions and threats that this women also violated you're rights in that she used "Excessive use of authority under color of law". and conversion of these rights. iIfought the city proper (On my own behalf) and won if thats any help. Don't let them get away with what they did to you. Keep posting as to whats happening.

The sad part of this is , she had a responsiability to put it in writing if you requested it By LAW. Did she ever do it , the letter that is .

I called another department of city hall and was told to come on by to pick up the list I should have been given to prepare for an inspection at the start of the program. The list was every useful - it explained exactly what an inspector will be looking for and how to prepare for it.
I would like to refuse this one woman entry into my home without being removed from the program I need.

In doing this you do 2 things . (One)- you stop them from not following thru with the things they promissed to do to your home. (Two)-By doing that you state that there is and will be a conflict ( legal action pending) with this women , and with this they can't let her have contact with you. Just like that you have legally exercised and protected YOUR legal rights . good luck.

I sure hope that is not what I can expect to deal with if I buy a house to renovate it.
