It doesn't state anything differently than what you said either. It doesn't say it is a law. Once it becomes an FDA practice they enforce it. Plain and simple.
That is akin to debating color of law versus the few real laws. Color of law, I assure you is enforced all over w/ serious consequences.
Apparently you haven't seen what the FDA can do to a legitimate business.
As for being against nutrition. That should be an individual choice to make. There is plenty of regs on making claims. All supplementation certainly isn't the same. Drug companies make worse claims in my opinion.
If you make claims the FDA says it is a drug. That is their rule. There is lots of criteria, regs and studies supporting nutritional supplements.
Plenty of doctors all over the world, do in fact recommend supplements so if you think they are a waste don't buy them.
I mean there is bottled flavored water w/ preservatives and aspartame in it. Hardly call that a supplement. Bunch of junk like lots of stuff you can buy.
