Talk to who told you about the deficiency. I've read that one should take copper along with zinc to balance levels. I take a low dose zinc and copper maybe once a week or so. I'm not deficient as far as I know, but many are mineral deficient.
I had zinc levels yrs ago but numbers were different..I was in mid range.
Do you have the range from the lab?

Zinc has two standard dosages. The low dosage is 5-10mg, while the high dosage is 25-45mg. The low dose works well as a daily preventative, while the high dosage should be taken by anyone at risk for a zinc deficiency.

Superloading zinc by taking up to 100mg zinc a day is confirmed to be safe in the short term (2-4 months), but because this dose is higher than the 40mg Tolerable Upper Limit (TUL) of zinc, prolonged superloading is not advised.
This is NOT a medical board!!! When you have health issues such as this - ASK YOU DOCTOR!
Ummm, I thought this was the H&W medical area. We are not doctors for sure, but we all seem to try to help each other. Not gospel, but who's info is gospel.
Mod note: Of course people should be asking their doctors. No one ever said that an internet forum is the end all and the be all. Most of us here are only giving our opinions.
