From the article: “ Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse University has purchased The Marshall, a new luxury student apartment development partially owned by longtime SU basketball coach Jim Boeheim, as part of an effort to increase student housing near its main campus.
SU confirmed Friday it acquired the 287-bed housing complex this week. The purchase price was not immediately disclosed.
The Marshall opened at 727 S. Crouse Ave. in 2018, offering living options from studios to 4-bed / 4-bath units towering over Marshall Street and offering views of the SU Quad, the Carrier Dome, and downtown Syracuse, according to its website.”
This is likely due to a push by the University to bring South Campus students to or closer to the Main Campus. This has been in the works for around 5-10 years, according to those in the know.
