What would be your top areas to live for a commute to Lakeland for Work?

Brandon?

Plant City, Davenport, areas around Seffner (caution - has several lower income areas/communities).

If you choose Brandon you will hit a lot of traffic. If you don't want to live in Polk County I would say probably Plant City. Maybe Valrico area if you want to be closer to Brandon/Tampa

Honestly, it all depends on what kind on your taste and style (Gulf Beach vs. Atlantic). Orlando/Tampa's suburbs are slightly different. Orlando's suburbs have a slight "new" feel to it IMO.

Orlando suburbs closest to Lakeland:
Winter Garden
Kissimmee
Celebration
Champions Gate
Or neighborhoods off of the 528

Tampa suburbs closest to Lakeland:
Thonotosassa
Brandon
Valrico
Seffner
Plant City

To me Haines City and Auburndale is still rural, has more dilapidated parts. Personally, I would live in Lakeland versus those two in Polk County. In the end, it's all based on your preference and what you sense during your visit. Best of Luck!!!

Orlampa is truly growing!!!

Why not Lakeland? Depending on what part of Lakeland, Brandon might be a bear. If you are wanting more city life, then Tampa or Orlando are both about 30-60 minutes depending on where you live. Unless I was looking specifically to live in the city, then I would choose Lakeland over any other reasonable commutable options.

Honestly, Fishhawk is only a half-hour from Lakeland, via backroads. Check the neighborhoods along Lithia-Pinecrest road, southeast of Valrico -- River Hills, Fishhawk Ranch, even Bloomingdale wouldn't be TOO bad of a drive.
