Hey Guys,

I am about to move to the Tampa Bay Area and I was wondering if Realtors there charge a fee to the person looking for an apartment or if the landlord pays the fee? Also do you recommend any Realtors in the area?

Thanks

Check one of the many online websites for rentals and you won't pay any fees. BTW Florida handles rentals overall different than NY and therefore renters in general conduct the searches themselves and call directly to the person listing or handling the rental.

Don't go to a property management company if you have certain things on your credit report and don't lie.

Lately we get application after application from out of state potential tenants and we deny one after another for lying.

Just so tenants are aware...most property management companies/brokerages conduct background checks and are not just collecting a fee and do nothing.

Last week denied for the same property 3 candidates who all lied about evictions and criminal records.

That was a record of denials and a waste of time and papers and 3 different couples losing money for applications!

Have you been evicted? Answer yes if you have been evicted! it will show up on background checks!

have you been arrested? Answer yes if you have been arrested and the sentence that your lawyer had it expunged and you have no clue why it shows up is not a defense or excuse.

Realtors are typically paid a finders fee or commission by the Landlord.
