As some predicted:

Trader Joe’s opening St. Pete store in 2014

Looks like the block containing Casita Taqueria, Ringside Cafe, a small barbershop and other building may be getting razed. It sounds like the whole block may be owned by the same entity.

There are other properties on 4th street that are vacant and have been vacant for years, but I guess they're either not in the desired area or not large enough- if they truly need/want an entire block, this is probably one of the few places they could get that quantity of commercial real estate.

So frustrating that Casita's now further than I'd drive for takeout. Seems like a big upgrade for Ringside, though.

Yeah, and they not long ago Casita's had the nice planters built and everything to enhance their outdoor seating! Oh well.

Never been to Ringside but I've heard it wasn't much beyond being a decent live music spot.

So much so for the discussion that Tampa Bay doesn't need more than one .

Having said that, I am happy I refused to follow the hype and drive to Sarasota. I will check it out in my own time, if it is useful at all .

It is a specialty grocery store where you can find all kinds on interesting products and many healthy choices. They have the best bacon on the planet. Life changing bacon. They are not a store where you do all your shopping. They have a devoted following and are always packed.
