Thunder all around yesterday evening, as we sat at a restaurant patio for dinner. The waitstaff was ready to move us indoors, if we needed to. But we didn't; clouds blew through Gulfport without a drop of rain.

We went to bed around 10PM and were surprised and delighted when we woke this AM to see the rain gauge with a healthy 0.64 reading! Neither of us heard any thunder or rain, but we were both zonked since we just returned from 2 weeks up north caring for a family member.

Not a drop at my place and we are going back to a reverse west windflow. We had a northeast flow Sat and that is not normal.

Holy Crapoli!!

An hour-long deluge with tons of thunder/lightning is finally letting up over Gulfport. The storm stalled over us and so far my trusty rain gauge is at 1.60 inches.

Not a drop at my place. Another screwed up direction the rain is moving in, just about dead due south. We are getting ready to flip back to a reverse west wind flow so if i don't get any today it could be another 2 weeks before i get a drop.

Chasls2: Maybe things will pick up for you. We went from a very dry July to 2.3 inches here in Gulfport in just the last 2 days.

Won't happen this summer. I called it out months ago that i would have another record dry summer as i called for us being in a reverse west windflow almost the whole summer. I may not beat out 06 as having least rainfall, but it will be close.
