Dead on. I am in the Lutz area just about everyday and it rains 10 times what it does at my house on the gulf. Thanks to being stuck in a reverse west windflow most of the summer every summer we don't see much rain at my house. Now on days like today and Monday we have had plenty of upper level support that makes for lots of lift and rain with the reverse west windflow so even i have had some rain.
Got 1.10" today.

But on most days without the extra lift i never stand a chance of rain with a west wind.

This summer it has been a solid reverse west windlfow the whole summer. We did had a few days inlate May and early June were we did have a southeast flow , but that was in the spring and not summer.

I did tell North Pin guy months ago that we would be in a west flow for the whole summer, funny thing is, i am right again.

Spoke to a woman who's had her home here since the late 70's. She said this is one of the driest and hottest summers in Gulfport she can remember. She grows orchids (100's!) and says she's been watering constantly this year, way more than in past.

I may have to buy shade-cloth for some of my plants!
Some places just miss out on rain more than others and other places seem to get all the rain.

Kinda freaky i have had over 5.50" since Sunday and went without any real rain for over 20 something days before that.

Dry as a bone yesterday in Gulfport; just a cloud would be nice.

Ahhh, we're having a heavy downpour that seems to have come up from the southwest, a nice line coming in from the eastern shore of Tampa Bay and travelling up 1-75. Good stuff.

Meanwhile, looks like part of the northeast of the country got hit with flooding rain this week. Long Island, Southern Connecticut. And cooler air is supposed to filter in. Oh, for some cooler air.

I don't like Bay News 9's "new, interactive" Klystron. I hate when companies "improve" things and it's not an improvement.

Scroll down a bit and they have an option for the classic version. I use that one instead.

I agree - although you can drill down to your actual neighborhood now - still, I prefer the old interface.

Arrow Always Prepare!

Ten years ago. Shows just how powerful a hurricane can remain, even over land in Florida. Don't assume you are safe, just because you do not live near the coast.
