Hello. My husband accepted a job offer in Brooksville, and we are looking to rent an apt. in Spring Hill. Our budget is about $700 for a 2 bedroom (we have a young child so need a 2 br). Wondering if anyone can recommend an apartment complex? So hard to decide what to look at in person with the information on their web sites. I think Glen Oaks, Port Apts, and Mariner's Cay (though I am not sure if that is rent restricted) are the frontrunners. Hibiscus Springs?

We are also considering renting a house. Are there any houses in that price in decent areas? Some of the houses seem cheaper than apartments, which doesn't make sense to me.

Any help would be appreciated

I think you would be hard pressed to find a house to rent for under $700 unless you decided to go with a trailer. A duplex may be an option. There are several off of Landover Blvd. you could check into, but I don't know of any specifically.

There is also Bridgewater Club Apartments in Spring Hill. They are directly behind the Target on US 19/Commercial Way. I believe you can get a 2 bedroom there for $700. I have friends who live there pretty cheaply and I can't imagine that they would be able to pay much more than that. I also think Bridgewater Club is one of those affordable housing places that gets some financial help from the government. The apartments are fairly new and look cute from the outside.

We know the owner of Portillo Apartments. He is a super guy, and if you can get in there and have him as your landlord, you will be pretty happy. Not sure what the inside of the apartments are like, though, or if they are in your price range. I can't imagine they wouldn't be, though.

I can confirm that the Bridgewater Club apartments are worth looking at. The location is great in terms of access to shopping and whatnot. I have relatives who moved in there this past summer.

It is nicer than I expected it to be.

Thanks for the replies! We are now looking in Brooksville too, if anyone has opinions on apartments there.
