Hi all,
There is a possibility we may be visiting FL later this year. We'd be staying in New Port Richey but we'll be bringing the kids to Disney. Is that a reasonable drive? From what I can tell it's about 100 miles and would take 1.5 - 2 hrs each way. My husband thinks it will be fine; I think it will be miserable, especially the ride home with three tired kids!
Thanks.

It's a relatively long drive. I think you're right that the ride home will be much harder than the ride there. There are tons of very affordable hotels close to Disney and it might be worth it to just spend the night after the parks.

About 2 hours in normal traffic. Count on a bit more if you are going during a high traffic time (which you likely will be if it's morning on any day of the week.)

Lucky for you the Disney exits are just before I4 really starts to jam up badly.

It should take you about two hours to drive to Disney from NPR. I'd book an inexpensive hotel room for one night rather than try to drive two hours when you are all tired. I'd leave NPR early in the morning, spend the day at Disney, including seeing the fireworks, and then go back to the hotel and sleep. Perhaps you could get a hotel with free breakfast and a pool and you could eat and swim in the morning before you check out and return to NPR.

Got to agree with my fellow posters. Stay overnight in Orlando. A long drive followed by a day at Disney and then a long drive again is a recipe for disaster. There are many budget hotels to choose from there.

It's a long drive, unless you drive after 11pm.

There's enough to do in Orlando that I'd stay there a few nights .
