I don't know how this guy with his history had custody...not judging the "mom" but she must have and an equally bad background or was poorly represented by the legal system...tragic death for a little girl who mostly likely had a tragic short life...the mentally ill continue to slip through the cracks...the system is overly concerned with the rights of the mentally sick person and not enough with the safety of their loved ones or the public in general...these tragedies will continue to happen if things don't change...

There are many many people, from DCF to cops to priests to lawyers to the mother/relatives of this child, who did nothing to save her. Very sad. As for the father, hopefully he will hang himself in prison and save us some money.

Exactly. This kid was let down by the entire system. There were red flags flying everywhere but yet the lunatic father was allowed to leave a police interview with the child.
