This was my thought. Another thing I've seen done is to fill gravel in where the dirt is removed to the bottom of the slab to allow better drainage.

Thank you so much. At least I have a starting point. I do not need/have flood insurance so that'a not an option so I have to protect my home myself. I appreciate all the input.

Maybe call some weatherproofing companies and explain your situation, they might recommend someone that can help. If the water is coming in from around the edges of exterior walls its most likely coming in from around the footer/foundation. A lot of digging/shoveling is required.
