I currently live in Colorado, and have recently become very interested in massage therapy. I am trying to do my homework and research all I can about massage therapy and the best locations to be a successful LMT. Not interested in it solely for the money, I just mean "successful" as in having repeat clients who I can build relationships with (I would like to work for myself in the end but do not mind paying my dues).

But, I'm looking at schools here in Colorado as well as schools in the Tampa Bay area, specifically St. Pete. If anyone has advice on specific institutions as far as quality of the programs/instructors as well as cost that would be appreciated. Thanks!

I once asked a massage therapist which is the best massage school in the area for a friend of mine who was interested in massage school. She said she started at one school near her, but quickly learned that all the massage schools are a joke, except for one, Cortiva in Pinellas Park (near St. Pete): http://www.cortiva.com/locations/flo...assage-school/

That's the one I keep coming across as well. Most of the schools in the area seem pretty small and/or offer multiple wellness-type programs in one place (i.e. cosmetology, nail technician) so it's hard to tell which ones are the most focused and credible, I'm sure some of them aren't so bad. Thank you for your reply! What I really should do is get a visit in and I think that would help me out the most.

I am an italian massage therapist and I might be going to move to Tampa as well. I got my qualifications at Scuola di MAssaggio ArteCorpo, in Genova, which I found very good, but I would be interested in continuing with my study in the USA, since I probably need to move there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Claudia
