I wish the area had more markets, cultural stuff, beautiful trails/parks/greenways, etc.

What does "best city" mean? It has an exceptionally high crime index, mediocre pay rates and fairly high housing costs (although certainly not the highest). There is a lot to do, and there are a lot of medical facilities.

Most great cities offer readily available mass transit. A single trolley line for tourists doesn't count.

I agree it's the best large city in Florida but the bar is set pretty low.

Who pays the salaries of "the experts" ?

Who funds the site?

I could see Tampa as "best big Fl city" But think about it.....the competition is Jacksonville and Miami?
We have Ybor, two great jails and a high speed rail is coming to connect Disney with the cigar district

Lagos is "The best big city in Nigeria" last I heard

What's the criteria? Honestly where you live is all about the effort you put in. If youre using Manhattan as a baseline then places like Tampa will always fall short in some areas.

Right now the cost of living vs available jobs seems a bit out of wack, but there's certainly growth going on and we're happy to be here.
