Terrible news. He lived in Trinity, if I recall correctly. I just got done watching the PCSO Sheriff's news conference.

Saw him pitch Clearwater Spring Training. Outstanding pitcher of his time. Dominating. High risk hobby shortened his life. He loved flying.

I was just checking the Aviation forum but no posts on this yet or theories about the cause of the crash. And we don't even know how it crashed and whether there were any witnesses. I've been reading up on the plane. It is described as a flying jet-ski, designed for recreational use. He just got it a month ago (though he's been flying since 2014), and there is a promotional video that he and his wife did for the plane manufacturer. In the video, she says she was totally against his getting this plane -- until she rode in one. Sadly, her gut instinct was right. This is such a tragedy.

One of those planes flew over me while I was kayaking Hillsborough Bay. Looked pretty aerodynamic/awesome. Low flying. I thought it was going to ditch into the water at first then realized it was just a low flyer.
