My wife and I are possibly looking at relocation to the St. Pete area, not far from the airport. What are some of the better neighborhoods that are within maybe a 30 min commute? Would coming from across the bay be unreasonable? Palm Harbor unreasonable? I'm not too concerned about the cost...but I'm thinking we should be in the $300-350K range.

Appreciate any info.

I would recommend the Safety Harbor/Countryside area. It offers a choice of two routes to the airport (US 60/Courtney Campbell Causeway or SR580/Hillsborough Rd which is a non-bridge option), both of which will average 20 to 30 minutes at rush hour to TPA. It's a nice area with good beach accessibility, about 20-25 minutes to Honeymoon Island or Clearwater Beach. There's plenty of desirable stock in your price point but since it's so in-demand they sell fast and you need to be prepared to make an offer. https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sal...2o_crid/0_mmm/

Default Want to buy or temporarily Rent in Tampa area

Interested in single dwelling, Highrise, townhouse or condo in Tampa Bay Area. Need easy access to Seminole Hgts area. I personally would love something near the beach, but probably looking at an hours drive, right. I could live as easily in downtown as easily as I could at the beach. Any suggestion for area, cost. Willing to rent initially, but also looking at possibilities of buying. We don’t need anything large as we are retired (kinda). Any lead on an area to live and house to buy or rent.we are being tapped to live near our first grandchild.

What is your housing budget for renting/buying and for what size of home?
