Hi. My work is bringing us to Tampa at the end of this year. We are familiar with the overall area and looking to rent for the first year before we settle on an area and a house. My job will be on Boy Scout Blvd but my wife’s is TBD.

We like the Westchase area as it has a lot to offer, within a fair distance to the city as well as the coast and the bay, while we feel, out where we want to be. We won’t be having any kids so schools aren’t an issue. Looking in the $1300-1500 range for rent. Townhomes or apartments are our focus.

Looking for amenities, safe area, etc. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

If you are Boy Scout area the Carrollwood, Westchase, Northdale area would be a decent commute time for you. With the range that you are looking for you may only be able to get a TH or a 1-2 bedroom rental. More options are in the 1600+ range. Welcome to the Tampa area. Hope you switch to being a Buc fan....

Thanks. We may look at something in the 1600+ range but only plan to rent for a year and figured we would keep it simple. Although trying to weigh a apt with storage vs a 1 car garage to eliminate the storage issue. Looking to buy after that prob in the 350k range. I am one of the rare non-Steelers fans up here so no problem!
