I'm flying into Tampa airport May 31st and will need to get to downtown st. Pete. What would be the most efficient and cost effective way to do that? Are there any public transportation options to consider? Thanks in advance!

Car rentals are competitive in price. Plus you have much more freedom about when and where to go. Not much in the way of public transportation in that part of the country.

The quickest way from Tampa airport to St. Pete's is over the water of Old Tampa Bay, I-275. The signs are very clearly marked coming out of the airport.

Longer, more northerly, but more interesting if you are a male, is the Courtney Campbell Causeway (state route 60). Stop at the original Hooter's before heading south on heavy traffic US-19.

Lots of nice sights and beaches.

Ok, no public transportation:
No bus, no supershuttle, nada, rien, niente...at least not during the weekend

How about shared Uber rides or even Lyft an option?

There IS Public Transportation goinn in both Directions, and the Buses from Pinellas County do go by TPA (Tampa Int'l) , also in both DIRECTIONS, service is poor or nil on weekends, but very good during working days.

Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority psta.net All You need to know is in the Web Site.

I travel By Bus from Miami to Tampa and in Tampa I take a super reasonable bus/transportation across the Bay to Pinellas County all the time. Mom is 87 yrs old and I dont want her driving to Tampa to get me.

You can call them with any questions if you get lost on line..They are great !!! Route 100X is what you need to focus on

The 31st is a Monday...You'll do real good, Cheap and maybe even free right now ... (Pandemia)

UBER and or Lyft will KILL You..

Have a great Trip. Looks like the locals in the Suncoast do not know what they have. A Miami visitor has to show them the ropes.
