You might see more wariness from some people out in the exurbs or rural areas-- Brooksville and Turkey Creek were pretty bad back in the day-- but for the most part, people really don't care one way or another.
I went to Turkey Creek for Junior Highschool... I would say that area and a majority of Plant City/Valrico is okay, any farther East towards Polk I would avoid.

Some parts of Lakeland are great but I wouldn't look at areas like Mulberry, Bartow, Lake Wales, ect, ect.. I'd also avoid the Lithia-Pinecrest-Keysville areas as well, I lived there for awhile and I swear they held klan rallies out there.

My wife and I are an interracial couple and have had thoughts about moving back to the Tampa area. We are considering Brandon and Pinellas County.

Good Luck !

Lakeland HS is very proud of their Pouncey twins, biracial twins and football greats who are now attending UF and tearing it up for The Gators. I know their grandpa and these boys are grounded
and happy fellows. The HS and team suffered a mourning period when the boys graduated
