I was wondering if the Greater Tampa area would be a good choice for a personal trainer.

I am looking at the whole area from Spring Hill all the way down to Sarasota.

Clearwater looks good to me from what I have seen so far.

There are quite a few adds on craigslist for personal training jobs.

Some have said that Miami-W.Palm-Ft.Lauderdale would be the best area for personal trainers.

However I think I am more suited for the gulf side.

Do you think personal trainers would be in demand in this area?

Thanks for all your help!

My guess would be that Tampa is just as good of an area to be a personal trainer than anywhere else.

No kidding graterdaze, the number of overweight people here is amazing.

Mississippi tops the list of the most obese people, and Colorado the least.

But FL sure does have more than its share of fatties.

I don't know where some people are hanging, but Tampa ranked #27 in America's Fittest Cities. To the adverse, Miami was the Fattest. Full report here --> The Fittest and Fattest Cities in America 2009 - Men's Fitness

I see more overweight people here than anything else. I am sure there are people who keep themsleves fit, but overall many, many overweight people.

And many in their teens and twenties.

Miami is #1, LOL, you would think people would try to stay a little slim around all those nice beaches. But, seriously, I think a personal trainer anywhere is a good buisness these days, especially with good advertising, etc..
