I've been at the current district for 9 years and I'm thinking about changing districts. I don't know if I am making the best decision and would love to have a private chat.

Are you a teacher? A parent? A custodian? A student?

Irrecoverable differences with a team member that is getting extremely bad. While I get great scores... this person doesn't without taking most of my instruction time (departmentalized) . It has been going on for years. I have been trying to be supportive, but it gets twisted around. Excellent principal retires 3 yeas ago, and the new principal gets tangled in a web. It is beyond repairable.

Do you mean your students get great scores on state tests, or are there actual assessments that you have to take?

How are we supposed to know how to answer these questions if we don't know the ramifications of things like pension, seniority, benefits, salary, etc?

Not to mention job availability in another district.

Is it getting worse each year ?
When you hate waking up each morning and going to work and it only gets worse over time, it WILL take it's toll on your health, both mentally and physically.

When the job stops being fun then it might be time to look for a new job.
Only you can decide if it's worth the risk.

It sounds like you have a good record of student achievement under your belt and any school district worth it's weight should be glad to employ you.

Have you put out any feelers yet to other schools ?

Those things would be the same except seniority. If numbers get crunched, I may be the first to let go.

It's been getting worse since the talented principal retired. Some feel like they are being forced to leave

Job availability is competitive.
