I'd like to know what teachers really think about CC. I'm the father of two young kids who has researched and I think it's garbage. I'm running for a local school board and it's my main issue.

Not a teacher (my daughter is but not in the US so that won't help) but I too have done a fair bit of research into CC and I agree with you. Thanks for asking .. I hope you get many responses from teachers. I would also be very interested to know what they think.

The issue isn't with Common Core per se, as transient as society is it sort of makes sense to have some grade based requirements transferrable between school systems and states, but the methods that have been adopted to teach it.

When I taught it wasn't unusual to have kids that had been in five different high schools across three different states (MD, VA, DC).

I think the issue is with CC. The standards are developmentally inappropriate.

Yes, there is that. I skipped over that part simply because I forgot about it.

You have to remember that CC was developed by university level education theorists and businesses (Gates Foundation and Pearson Education).

Here's your political problem: so much money is at stake, basically states are held hostage to adopt CC and PARCC or lose funding, that it had to be adopted.
