This will be long, bare with me lol....

My family relocated to the Morristown area a couple years ago and now want my fiance' and I to relocate to the area. I'm not sure about the area. I don't like the city itself but I do like the lakes around the area. Having lived in Florida if I'm going to relocate I really want to either buy a lot on a lake, a house on a lake, or something extremely close to a lake(within a couple miles). I'm willing to live anywhere as long as its within a decent drive to Morristown, so Knoxville, Tri-Cities, etc. We've also considered Augusta, GA & Columbia, SC as well as moving back to Florida but I have a feeling that drive would get old if made on a monthly basis. Not to mention cost of living would be a lot higher.

So, help would be appreciated. I work virtually so I can work wherever and my fiance' is in Education. We surprisingly have been able to find several jobs for her in TRI & Knox area.

Advice would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully others that have relocated can chime in on cost of living, how they fit in, etc. We don't have any kids but plan to have at least 1 kid. If anyone knows what lake we could get the cheapest lot on that would be helpful also. And if you know of building costs per sq ft. for a brick home I would appreciate anything you can give me.

This is still up in the air but my fiance' really wants to be in Tennessee since that's where family is.

Thanks!

Anywhere would be lovely; however, due to your fiance' being in Education I would say you should check out Knoxville., There will be more opportunities in that area. Plus, that is just a short drive to see family in Morristown.

Sorry, I don't know building costs but I am sure that others will chime in on that.

Best of luck with your decision and move.
