That's not exactly what the article says. The study by the Urban Land Institute included only 50 metro areas. And of those, the Memphis urban area had the 4th highest rate of growth for the millennial age bracket. They list only the top 25 for growth rates. Of those 25, Memphis comes in 20th for actual numbers. According to this study, from 2010-2015 Memphis added 1,714 Millennials, compared to 4,523 for Austin, 5,199 for New Orleans, 5,176 for Richmond, 3,665 for San Antonio, 4,177 for Pittsburgh, 15,549 for Boston, and so forth.

Still, if having more Millennials is a good thing, then kudos to Memphis!

I'm not surprised that Nashville is on that list... and near the top. Also not too surprised about Knoxville, but I'm somewhat surprised Chattanooga did not make that list (or show ahead of Knoxville). Millennials are flocking to Tennessee.

It's where the jobs are. Excellent quality of life. It's well positioned to other cities that are only a day drive away.

We are moving to Dayton precisely because of some of these factors. I'm totally not surprised to see Nashville or Knoxville on the list, too!
