Tennessee grew by 1 percent while the U.S. grew by 0.72 percent.

Tennessee grew by 66,580 which means that over half of the state's population growth (34,190, or 51.4 percent) was in the Nashville MSA.

That's the thing. They "adjust" the previous year's numbers with each release. I'm not sure what the exact reason is...but I think the metro officially grew by 34k, but if you went by last year's estimates -- when they were released, we grew by 38k. Weird.

I'm really surprised to see that K-B outgrew Johnson City, and that Johnson City isn't posting better growth.

I see. It's kind of like the GPD numbers that get released. They update the prior quarter at the same time they release the current quarter.

It reiterates that these are just estimates and the real census happens in 2020. That being said, I don't think common sense allows one to believe that Davidson only grew 2300 people in from 2016-2017.
