We're leaving L.A. in a month or two and headed for Texas. My husband's new job is in Kemah. I'd like to hear opinions from anyone who's familiar with San Leon, League City or Dickinson. Those are the 3 main cities we're looking into although we're open to others. Right now, we're leaning towards San Leon.

We live in our RV full-time and there's a beautiful RV park situated only one block from the bay. I realize we may be battoning down the hatches and driving inland every time there's a major thunderstorm, but to us, it's worth it to be able to live in beautiful surroundings again. Something we don't have where we live now.

This is a picture of the fishing lake in the RV park.

That is just beautiful. Did you notice, NOT to many people there. Not like Cali. That place would be full of people.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks! The lack of confinement and hoards of people crammed into a tiny space is one of the first things I noticed.

I don't have any info on the specific areas you're interested in. However, here is a nice RV link for Texas you might be interested in:

I found a couple more RV parks on that website that weren't on my list. Also found an informative article on the approaching hurricane season. Thank you! I really appreciate that.
