nonfarm payroll employment decreased in 28 states, and increased in 22
states and the District of Columbia. The largest over-the-year percentage
decrease in employment occurred in New Mexico (-2.2 percent), followed
by Nevada (-2.0 percent), Rhode Island (-1.7 percent), Georgia
(-1.5 percent), Colorado (-1.4 percent), and California (-1.3 percent).
The largest over-the-year percentage increase in employment was reported
in Kentucky (+1.5 percent), followed by Indiana and New Hampshire
(+1.4 percent each), the District of Columbia (+1.3 percent), and
Alaska (+1.2 percent).
