Hello everybody,I'm originally from the North Texas but I have been living in Midland for almost 20 years.I am thinking of moving in the next few years to possibly San Angelo if I do not stay in Midland. A big part of my decision is which place is better for finding a wife.I am in my early 20s and I am a religious Christian and don't drink or party so nightlife is not a issue. Are the young church-going ladies mostly single or taken or engaged/married?I have not been having much luck in Midland/Odessa.I never found a serious girlfriend in high school or since then.I am in college right now. However, jobs in my field of study are low paying.I'm a history major.I think if I move to Angelo,I would work in the service industry like maybe a grocery store. However, I have been thinking to myself that perhaps staying in Midland is for the best because I want to eventually get in a office job like a filer in the oil and gas industry. However, by that time it may be a bust in the oil field. So maybe it would be better to get my start in the oil industry while I can. However, if the oil industry is still in a boom by that time maybe I should move to Angelo if the dating scene is better there.I looked at churches online and they have churches with college/young singles ministries. My church in Midland is lacking in that regard.Housing would not be a issue in either city.So what do yall think about Midland vs. San Angelo for me?
Thanks in advance

Native Midlander and my vote is move to Dallas...as close to Uptown or West Village as you can afford. Just pay those places a visit some weekend and you'll see why. If you insist on staying in West Texas, stick with Midland and Join the oilfield and forget about girls for a while.

I would vote for San Angelo because at least they have Angelo State which is a decently sized regional university, which will have some single women, alumni, and church events you could get hooked in to.

You might consider Abilene. It is a VERY church-oriented community, and it also has many more jobs than San Angelo. With the current housing situation in Midland, I would not even consider moving there.

The closer you move to a major city, the better career opportunities you will have. You will also increase your odds of finding a like minded soul mate, as there is more to choose from.

San Angelo would bore me to tears. I spent some time out there for work and couldn't wait to get back to Midland.

Dallas??? Move to Dallas only if you want to be murdered or hit by a drunk driver on the freeway. I live in Ft. Worth and it's far better than Dallas but so is Hell.

I lived in San Angelo and have spent a lot of time in Midland and I don't know if there is much difference as far as what the poster is looking for, such as a wife. Maybe San Angelo is better because of Angelo State University. Yeah, I think about it and that's probably right, go for San Angelo.
