If you like 'hills', go out to Far West Texas and see some mountains. I feel certain that Guadalupe Peak is splendid now, but I don't have any photos of it. The area north of Fort Davis is rich in evergreen trees.

Everyone knows that California is one of few exceptions to that rule.

Nooo......I meant as far as the hills. Metro Matt always saying East Texas is as hilly as Austin.

Not all of Austin is steep high hills & the Hill Country doesn't even begin till you're in far west Austin.

East Texas has hilly terrain like parts of Austin, especially Northern & Central Austin.

East & South Austin is as flat as Houston.

Mineola is north of Tyler.

Maybe you're thinking of Rusk, which is 40 miles south of Tyler? Some of the hills down there get pretty damn steep. I used to race motocross at a place called Thunder Mountain in Rusk. The name says it all. There are rocky red clay cliffs all over the place, some too steep & dangerous for even the most avid rock climbers...4 wheel drive when its wet? Forget it.
