Or maybe you just saw what you wanted to see and moved on. I feel that way about a lot of places. It doesn't mean I "outgrew" them - it just means that I experienced them and am now ready for something else.

At Pinkmani, how long have you lived in Atlanta? I used to live there in the mid to late 1990s. Why would you want to move? Just curious.

North Carolina is the most beautiful place in the world (to me). I know I won't be able to afford to live there, but am planning on living in Tenn when my husband retires.

One thing I see as a common thing, is no real desire for the Eastern seaboard, the Midwest and generally cold weather.

States adjoining Texas seem popular as does California but consistently, the high cost of living, makes it problematic. Arizona seems love/hate situation

North Carolina is rather vanilla, but it's beautiful, the weather is nice, it's affordable, and there's a large educated population...all rounded off with southern culture. Plus, how could I not love being so close to both the mountains and the ocean?

I agree. I'm not speaking for anyone but myself.

I won't do this by states...but by cities

Portland
Seattle
San Francisco
Los Angeles
Miami
Washington, D.C.
NYC
Denver
SLC (really on the fence here)

And for smaller places:

Santa Fe
Charleston
Boulder
Tahoe

That's about it.
