I live in Houston and wish to relocate to Midland or wherever there is oil jobs, i have a CDL, can weld and do equipment maintenance, which city do you recommend I visit first

I moved to West TX after living in Colorado for two years. It was depressing at first, but I soon learned to appreciate the finer aspects of it. The sunrises/sunsets are amazing, and the view of the stars at night is unparalleled.

You're basically guaranteed a job regardless of where you go. Have you also considered the Eagle Ford shale play? The region is south of San Antonio and west of Corpus Christi, so living in either city is an option, though you'd be driving at least an hour to get to work.
