Several weeks ago when I was visiting my parents in corpus christi, the local newspaper had an article that said that Dr Pepper would offer Cane Sugar as part of its anniversary celebration. When I called the Dr Pepper Cust Service last week, the person didn't seem to know about it and had to go ask her supervisor. Everyone knows about the Dublin plant that uses cane sugar, but it would be a treat to be able to go to the LOCAL market and pick up cane sugar drinks instead of the cheap corn syrup wannabes .

Has anyone seen these available in their areas?

It's not cane sugar. For the 125th anniversary, they are using real sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. It's pretty good, but not as good as cane sugar.

my mistake. I was only a kid when they made the conversion in the 70s, so i'm not too familiar with the difference between "cane sugar" and "sugar". So, have you seen them in your area?

Yep. They are hard to miss, they have special packaging for the Anniversary edition, and the Dublin Dr. Pepper only comes in bottles.

The Anniversary ones ought to be pretty easy to find. The Dublin is hit or miss here in Dallas. Sometimes my local Target has it, sometimes not. Central Market usually does.

The Dublin is the best, but the Anniversary is better than the standard.

I can't believe some people still haven't heard of Dublin Dr Pepper. It's pure greatness. You will have an easier time to find them than ever before because of higher demand. They are available in many supermarkets in Texas (Kroger, Tom Thumb/Randall's, HEB), and usually in six-packs of 8-ounce bottles.

Dublin is in the red and yellow striped cans and bottles. My local grocery carries it (and Imperial Sugar XXX Root Beer and Imperial Sugar RC) in their fountain machine. Best $1.40 I spend every day for 44 ounces of tooth decay.

Hey, my wife has dentures already. Seven kids'll do that to you with all the lost minerals. I have a lot of cavities to go to catch up with her. Seriously.

We can get Dublin Dr Pepper all over Dallas now. I had not heard of Dr Pepper offering cane sugar Dr P for it's anniversary.

I did hear this on the news, but wasn't paying strict attention. But I remember thinking, oh great, they're switching over to sugar. (Sigh) Should have known it was just for something special or a limited time. Dummy me!

We run across them occasionally around here (from Salado - Brookshire Brothers carries them in the coolers - down to South Austin - there's a few convenience stores that have them).

When we do, we buy a lot of them. Just like when we run across Pepsi Throwback in bottles - stock up!

Dublin Dr Pepper is, indeed, better, but this is MUCH better than the regular DP these days.
