it seems like most of everybody where I live (Midland) are recent transplants.I am a transplant myself but I have been here for over two decades.I think transplants outnumber native Midlanders.

I think I know exactly why he's asking. While I still run into native Texans, the large influx of transplants that I've encountered in the last several years seem to far outnumber the natives.

Midland is a boom/bust town, now is the boom time so most of the people there are just there to work, wait a few years and only the locals will be left........

I think so. The Midland Odessa area has high "turnover". I would disagree with wpme and say even locals tend to leave the area and replaced by transplants. I know very few people who are from this area originally,

Seems that way in the DFW area, especially closer to downtown Dallas.

We do have a lot of transplants but I see more intrastate transplants than anything else. Some are just from the other side of town.

Right now I think we are about 80% native and 20% other.
