Thinking of relocating to Bay City this summer. I'm concerned about the school district, because the ratings aren't the greatest. I have 3 young kids but only one in school already. He is 11 and will be going into 6th grade. The other two are 4 and 2 so we have another year and some for them. A great school district is most important!! We will be moving from a town with a population of 2500 so I'm sure Bay City will be a pretty big change. Any input would be greatly appreciated. We do want to live in a bigger town then we do now, but also don't want big city crime. So crime rate is important too. Basically, is BC a place to put down roots and raise a family?

Budget is 150k. And I've looked at the crime rate, it's not as bad as it was 10-15 yrs ago. I'm just wanting more of a personal idea. My husband works away from home a lot so it makes me home alone with the kids quite a bit.

I used to drive through that area once a week for years. Lots of nice people & rice farmers all around the area (back then). I can't help with Bay City, but here's a thread from 6 months ago that discusses nearby towns.

good luck.
