I used to live in Toledo. Not sure I can help you as to what area.

You may want to post what your income level is if your kids are in school, apartment or house. That kind of stuff.so people have a better idea of what you are looking for.

Also, you may want to look at some of the towns around Toledo. Bowling Green, Perrysburg, Maumee etc..........

Toledo and NW Ohio is a great place to live. Hope you enjoy it.

Yeah we need a few more details. I would recommend some of the loft conversions and highrises downtown, but it doesn't sound like you are a young professional like me so that may not fit you well.

There was a recent article in the Blade about high vacancies in the Toledo area because of the economic downturn so you may be able to use it to your advantage and find a place for a bargain. All of the suburbs had record high vacancy, and one new place in Sylvania was 70% empty!

Do you already have a job lined up? If you are looking for something full-time outside of the medical profession, you will have a hard time finding anything.

I'm also looking at moving to Toledo. No job lined up but have a place to stay.
(I'm working part time in a small town atm and figure I need to get somewhere bigger to have any chance of full time employment)

But keep in mind that what Yayoi said is true: there are no jobs in Toledo. There are thousands of unemployed peopled here already who can't find anything. Even in the health care field there aren't jobs. I'm not saying don't move to Toledo, just warning you that if you do you will find yourself at the end of a very long line of people all looking for the same nonexistant jobs. Sad but true.

Best of luck to both of you, Toledo is a pretty good town with good schools for families but is lacking in resources for the college age and young professionals.

The downtown and uptown areas are getting much better by the day with many new restaurants/bars, housing, and entertainment (new sports arena) going up.
