I was wondering how someone would go about finding a safe place (sports bar, lounge, etc.) to watch some of the 2010 World Cup games in Toronto. I say "safe" because I've walked along Bloor and College around the Little Portugal area on a Sunday afternoon, and I've seen plenty of bars showing games, but often with a large crowd of soccer fanatics outside, sometimes engaged in heated arguments.
What I want to find is a place where you can be rooting for opposite teams and still be able to watch a game together, in a quiet (well, sort of), respectful environment.
I read an article about The Footbal Factory, where they regularly show European league games. Does anyone know of a similar place where they regularly show South American league games?
The Italian, Portuguese, Greek, etc populations of Toronto are mostly soccer nuts, so it's not unexpected to find them rabidly supporting their teams in neighbourhood bars.
Maybe find a nice innocuous Boston Pizza; it's hard to get any blander that BP
